I have to say that when it comes to Keyword Research I get excited. I know, I know, for the majority of people this is the most tedious job there is, but it’s the most important and eye opening part of Affiliate Marketing.
Keyword Research is nothing more than finding out what words and phrases are being used by the millions and millions of people online to find what they are looking for. Of course Wikipedia does a much fancier job defining what Keyword Research is all about. 😉
The Importance of Keyword Research
We’ve all heard it… Build it and they will come!
But what if no one is searching for it?
Think about it, there are millions of people that are online and we are all so different in the way our minds operate and think. When doing keyword research you are basically getting inside the minds of those millions of people and get to see first hand exactly how and what they are searching for.
Put yourself in the shoes of the person who is searching for what you have to offer. For example, my daughter and I just completed a redo of her bedroom and we did it in the color purple. When I went to search for ideas I didn’t just search for “bedroom ideas” I was specific and searched for “purple bedroom ideas”. Now granted if we had no idea what we wanted her room to look like I would have used a broad search term like “bedroom ideas” but we had purple on the brain. 😉
We were able to find some really cute ideas that my daughter incorporated in her room and can I just say that we are both very happy with how it came out.
Who is Keyword Research for
For any business owner, blogger and affiliate marketer that is wanting their site to be on the first page of the major Search Engines like Google, Bing & Yahoo for popular keyword phrases that users are searching on.
Keyword research is like the concrete that is laid before a new house can be built. Without concrete that house is sinking..without keyword research your online business sink.
